I am an economist specializing in macroeconomic policy, international finance, and international trade. I am currently an Associate Professor of Economics and International Affairs (contract faculty) and Director of the Master's Program in International Economic Policy at the Elliott School of International Affairs, George Washington University.

My professional experience includes positions at the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), focusing on macroeconomic policy, fiscal issues, international trade, and economic developments in emerging and developing economies.

My current research focuses on macroeconomic volatility, financial development, and the exposure of financial systems to government debt, particularly in emerging economies.

I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from George Washington University, an M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Warwick, and a Licentiate in Economics (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Buenos Aires.
